test environment for alternative art production, experimental ways of living and non-academic knowledge development. We are a network organisation at the intersection of (popular) culture and (performing) arts, fueled by an abiding interest in all the inspiring, beautiful, urgent, vital, raw, unruly and / or crazy shit that our fellow human beings come up with. _festivals & fairs

★ Dutch Design Week // Eindhoven
an event about Dutch design, hosted in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The event takes place around the last week of October and is a nine-day event with exhibitions, studio visits, workshops, seminars, and parties across the city.

★ FIBER // Amsterdam
a meeting place for everyone interested in contemporary audiovisual art, daring conversations and experimental electronic music.
↳ I attended a FIBER lab on Natural Intelligence in 2022 as a researcher and wrote this piece for their blog.

★ STRP // Eindhoven
explores the relationship between art, technology, and major societal issues with the general public, artists, designers, media makers, and thinkers. The Eindhoven-based organisation starts a dialogue about speculative future scenarios with various events throughout the year and an annual festival in Spring. ↳ I attended it in 2023 - the theme was "the art of listening" and was 100% connected to my ongoing master's research. Loved the way it was organised and had a great time during the evening line-up, curated by Loma Doom.

★ Sounds of Music // Groningen
Soundsofmusic is a non-profit foundation that has been organizing a festival for innovative, contemporary music since 1991 (in varying forms).
▶▶ website

★ Zine Camp // Rotterdam 🖤
a free festival to make zines and friends.
↳ I love it! It's organised by xpub alumni and in 2023 I am facilitating a workshop on audiozines making; and also joining the fair with my classmates and our Blob Shop.

★ Anarchist Book Fair // Amsterdam
The ABFA is an event to learn and to work together towards a world without states, borders, ecocide, capitalism and any other forms of oppression.

★ Paper Bound // Amsterdam
born in 2022 out of love for zines and a grant from the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.

_residencies

Residencies have always been a mystery to me. How do you find them? Is it possible to find one that you don't need to pay for? If you know and want to share, please, let me know :-)
